Castlereagh School provides educational programs for students with a diagnosed disability and complex communication and learning needs from Kindergarten to Year 12. Our school offers small classroom sizes with a high staff ratio.
Students who enrol at Castlereagh School must meet eligibility criteria. Each enrolment is considered on an individual basis to ensure Castlereagh School is the best placement for the student. Many students travel from out of boundary to attend Castlereagh School.
We understand that due to varying circumstances, including family relocations, may prompt you to make enrolment enquiries throughout the year. We welcome these enquiries as there can often be a small number of vacancies.
Castlereagh School welcomes parents and families to contact the school to arrange a tour and to discuss your child’s individual educational needs.
A tour with the Principal
Parents of children who are seeking school placement are encouraged to contact Castlereagh School to book an Early Learning Centre tour and/or telephone conversation with our principal. Please contact us on 08 9266 6100 or by email, castlereagh@education.wa.edu.au. This visit gives you the opportunity to view our Early Learning Centre (ELC), discuss how our ELC operates and ask any questions you may have in regard to enrolment.
Transition
At Castlereagh School we provide a range of transition programs that are tailored to each individual child.
New students are provided with a social story and given the opportunity to spend time in their new class to meet staff and students. Transition days can range from a single half day, to a series of full days depending on the child. We work closely with parents and the student’s current school to arrange the transition schedule.
If your child has high medical needs
If your child has high medical needs, our two onsite nurses provide outstanding health care, support and help to families. The teacher works closely with the nursing team to ensure your child is safe and receives the very best of support.
